Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10

This last year has been a year of fear and anxiety. It has been a year that we ask, will I get sick? Will I have enough money to pay all the bills? Will my company still be able to stay in business?   We could go on and on with things that we could worry about. Jesus tells us to have no anxiety for tomorrow. Yes, we need to take thought for tomorrow, careful planning and preparation, but have no anxiety.

We can only live in the day and moment we are in. We cannot live in the future. An old church hymn says it best, “Lead, kindly light… keep thou my feet. I do not as to see the distant scene; one step enough for me.”

We need to live by these five words, “One step enough for me.” Just this moment and no anxiety for the future for we know who holds the future. Jesus holds the future.
