“When I heard this, I sat down and wept. In fact, for days I mourned, fasted, and prayed to the God of heaven.” Nehemiah 1:4Nehemiah’s community, Jerusalem, was in ruins. So, he was weeping and praying. He loved his community so much that he had a burden for his community. Nehemiah had a burden for his community and the people that lived in his community. He knew that with the walls of his community down, they could be attacked at any time and the people killed. When God puts a burden on your heart, don’t try to escape it, for if you do, you may miss a blessing. Nehemiah spent several days fasting, weeping and praying. He knew that something had to be done to save his community. We need to have a burden for our community. Please be in prayer for our community.
